Guests briefly stuck on rides at Fiesta Texas after power outage

No injuries reported

SAN ANTONIO – Guests at Six Flags Fiesta Texas were briefly stuck on rides after a power outage at the park Saturday afternoon.

Communications manager Sydne Purvis said the outage, which happened about 4:30 p.m., only lasted a few minutes and guests were quickly escorted off the rides.

The spokeswoman said the two rides affected were the Superman: Krypton Coaster and the Sky Screamer.

Guest Rene Trevizo witnessed the Sky Screamer stall. He said guests were stuck on the ride for about 20-25 minutes.

"Everybody got off on their own. Everybody was safe," he said. "Some of them looked like they were pretty relieved to get down. They looked pretty scared."

Trevizo said his daughters were about to get on the ride before it stopped.

"My heart started pounding really fast when I saw that. I'm like, 'Oh, my God. They were next. That could've been them,'" he said. "I would have been scared as a parent. I'm sure other parents would have felt the same way."

Purvis said safety checks were performed on all rides after the outage. It’s unclear if the rides affected are up and running.

No injuries were reported.

Trevizo recorded a Facebook Live video of the guests stuck on the Sky Screamer. You can watch that video below:
