It’s unclear why the man didn’t move. Police said he didn’t have any headphones on and was facing the train.

Police said the man was walking with someone who told him to get out of the way.

Authorities said the man didn’t have many visible injuries but said he was screaming in pain.

The man was taken to University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Traffic was redirected along the length of the train for almost two hours.
