Laundry room fire damages SW Side apartment complex

Fire was reported just after 3 a.m. in 400 block of Gillmore Ave

SAN ANTONIO – A laundry room fire severely damaged a Southwest Side apartment complex early Thursday morning, San Antonio firefighters said.

The fire was reported just after 3 a.m. in the 400 block of Gilmore Avenue near South General McMullen Drive and General Hudnell Drive.

Firefighters said when they arrived the room was completely on fire. 

No one was inside however and no residents had to be evacuated, officials said.

At this time, the cause of the fire is still unknown. Arson has been called to investigate. 

Damages are estimated to be about $50,000.
