SAN ANTONIO – The man accused in an eight-hour standoff with police that took place over the weekend has been identified and charged, officers said Monday.
Joseph Hardeman, 29, is charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault.
Hardeman forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the 1400 block of Babcock Road early Saturday morning, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police said Hardeman, who was armed with a gun, forced the woman’s friends out of the apartment and then barricaded himself inside with the woman.
He eventually let her go after more than eight hours, police said.
