David's Law moves on to Texas House after 31-0 vote in state Senate

AUSTIN – Senate Bill 179, also known as David’s Law, is moving on to the Texas House of Representatives after the state Senate approved the bill unanimously with a 31-0 vote.

The bill would crack down on online bullying in state-funded schools.

David’s Law was named after 16-year-old David Molak, a local student who took his own life after, his family said, he was tortured by cyberbullies at Alamo Heights High School.

The bill would require public schools to establish methods for students to anonymously report cyberbullying.
