SAN ANTONIO – A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday morning after he led authorities on a high-speed chase, officials said.

The chase started around 8 a.m. when a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper tried to pull the man over for a traffic stop in Atascosa County.

The man, who is wanted on several felony warrants, refused to stop and a chase ensued, officials said.

Sheriff's deputies and constables joined in the chase when the man crossed into Bexar County, officials said.

The chase ended about 40 minutes later when the man bailed out of his vehicle and ran into a wooded area near the Solana Ridge subdivision near Loop 410 and Ray Ellison Drive, authorities said.

Law enforcement caught up with the man and arrested him.

A gun and drugs were found in the man's vehicle, officials said.
