Man arrested after shooting at officers on North Side

SAN ANTONIO – A 38-year-old man is in custody after reportedly shooting at San Antonio police officers on the city’s North Side.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex on West Silver Sands Drive near West Avenue, just south of Wurzbach Parkway.

Police said they responded to a call at the Park West Apartments complex after a man said someone was trying to break into his vehicle. He started firing shots at the alleged burglar.

When police arrived, the man inside the apartment started shooting at police. A neighbor then called that man and asked him to surrender.

The man came out of the apartment and surrendered peacefully. Police are questioning him.

No one was injured.
