Man speeding away from cops crashes stolen car into multiple vehicles, tree

SAN ANTONIO – A man speeding away from police in a stolen car ended up crashing into a tree.

San Antonio police said at one point, the man was driving an estimated 110-120 mph.

Police said they first spotted the silver vehicle speeding near Highway 281 and Bitters Road. When they tried to make a traffic stop, the man inside appeared to be pulling over but then sped off.

Officers followed the man but lost sight of the car near Loop 410 and Interstate 10. Other police officers then saw the car near Babcock Road.

Police said the man tried to take the exit, but he hit the brakes and slammed into two cars and a motorcycle before crashing into a tree.

The man tried to get out and run, but officers caught him. Police said he will be facing several charges.

The man was not injured.

One of the drivers the man hit suffered a broken nose but is expected to be OK.
