Small grass fire destroys 2 sheds, home in far South Bexar County

3-5 acres burned

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A slow-moving grass fire was still able to do some serious damage Sunday in far South Bexar County.

Several fire agencies with 20-30 firefighters responded to the scene and discovered two shed structures and a residential building destroyed.

The fire started near the intersection of Pleasanton Road and Peaceful Lane, just west of Highway 281.

There were reports of explosions and firefighters said the homeowners told them there were several propane tanks inside the home.

The Bexar County fire marshal was at the scene investigating the cause, though it is believed a fire lit on Saturday was left smoldering and rekindled.

The homeowners deny having a fire on their property.

No one was injured in the fire.
