Speed, alcohol suspected in deadly crash, SAPD says

Crash occurred at Bandera, Evers roads

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police believe a man was intoxicated, speeding and ran a red light before slamming into another car, killing the woman inside.

The crash happened at Bandera and Evers roads at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to witnesses, a man was driving a Mercedes westbound on Bandera Road when he ran the light at Evers Road, and slammed into a 60-year-old woman driving an SUV.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man driving the Mercedes and a woman who was with him were both injured, but expected to survive, police said.

They were transported to University Hospital for treatment.
