2 shot during Southeast Side drug deal, police say

Man, woman shot twice in chest

SAN ANTONIO – A man and woman are being treated at an area hospital after both were shot twice in the chest late Sunday night.

San Antonio police said the couple was shot during a drug deal at an apartment complex on the city's Southeast Side shortly before 10 p.m.

Police said the couple had met up with two men at the apartment complex in the 3200 block of Bolmore Drive.

When the drug dealers pulled out guns, the 21-year-old man attempted to stand in front of his girlfriend to protect her, police said.

The gunmen then shot both of them.

Police did not release a detailed description of the shooters.

At the scene, officers said both of the people who were shot were in extremely critical condition when they were rushed to a hospital.
