LA VERNIA, Texas – Several former and current staff members at La Vernia Independent School District have asked to be removed from a lawsuit filed by the parents of a former student.
The school’s principal and several former and current members of the athletic department claim in a motion that the victim’s parents lack standing to sue them and say the claims are redundant since the district is already being sued.

The district has been embroiled in hazing scandal, since news broke that 13 students had been arrested and charged with sexual assault.
