Crews battle North Side fire for over 40 minutes

Cat rescued

SAN ANTONIO – Arson investigators are looking into the cause of a raging fire on the North Side that started early Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to the home in the 1900 block of Deer Mountain Street around 2:30 a.m. Officials said the fire started in the garage, spread to the rest of the home and was in full bloom when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters rescued a cat from one of the bedrooms. No one was hurt, investigators said.

It took 10 units and over 40 minutes to battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
