Police investigating carjacking on far North Side

Incident occurred at an apartment complex in 17200 block of Shavano Ranch

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating the carjacking of a vehicle on the city's far North Side early Monday morning.

The carjacking was reported just before 7 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 17200 block of Shavano Ranch.

Police said the car owner witnessed the burglary of his vehicle and went to inspect it after seeing the thieves flee.

When the owner got inside the vehicle however, the suspects banged on his window with a gun and demanded both his car and phone.

The suspects drove off with the car, police said. The car owner was not hurt.

Police said as of now no one has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
