Man killed in crash in Schertz, which started as chase in New Braunfels, identified

SCHERTZ, Texas – The medical examiner’s office identified a man killed in deadly crash in Schertz, which started off as a chase in New Braunfels last week.

The medical examiner identified the man killed in Friday’s crash as 18-year-old Robert Orlando Pratt Jr.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials said they were following a silver car for criminal activity on Friday. The car was seen going west on FM 78 when it crashed into an 18-wheeler and three other vehicles at the intersection of FM 3008 in Schertz.

Pratt died of blunt force injuries. Three other people were also injured.
