WATCH: Man builds 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ship replica in backyard

500-foot-tall backyard vessel comes with jail, captain's quarters

ARIZONA – A man in Arizona has gone the extra mile in showing his love for the Disney movie "Pirates of the Caribbean".

Retired Los Angeles attorney Steven Hill began the project a year ago, building a replica ship right in his backyard.

He said he made the ship for the kids in the community to enjoy free of charge.

The 500-foot-tall backyard vessel comes with a jail, a captain's quarters, fake cannons and even a crow's nest.

Hill's building skills run in the family as Steven's grandfather actually constructed the original Disney land castle.

The latest installment of the franchise, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is set to release on May 26 and stars Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Javier Bardem. Jerry Bruckheimer will again direct.
