The two-day summit was created in partnership with the Department of Planning and Community Development. It's meant to give people the chance to address concerns with city leaders and possibly find solutions to key housing issues around San Antonio.

"We want to make sure that everyone's represented,” said Irma Rodriguez, with the city of San Antonio’s planning department. “I mean, all the way from Stone Oak to Somerset, we want to make sure that everyone's at the table saying, ‘This is what makes my neighborhood great. This is how I want my neighborhood to improve. This is what I feel that we need to be doing in San Antonio.’"

Attendees will also participate in workshops covering affordable housing production and how private-public and nonprofit entities can help in bettering the housing community across the city.

The event picks up again at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.
