Fire causes $50,000 in damage to North Side home

Lightning to blame, SAFD says

SAN ANTONIO – Lightning from a quick-moving thunderstorm Wednesday evening is to blame for starting a house fire.

San Antonio firefighters were called to the home in the 2900 block of Quail Oak Street around 7:30 p.m.

Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the second floor.

The family inside and its pets were able to make it out unharmed.

The fire caused about $50,000 in damage.
