H-E-B partners seek to raise $8.7M for Texas nonprofits

32nd annual Tournament of Champions one of nation's largest charitable events

SAN ANTONIO – Painting, landscaping, building playgrounds at children’s charities and distributing food in the community are just some of the ways in which volunteers are participating in H-E-B’s Tournament of Champions.

More than 1,000 of the grocery giant’s employees — known as “partners” — are looking to raise more than $8.5 million in charitable donations as part of this year’s event.

H-E-B said the Tournament of Champions, now in its 32nd year, is one of the largest such charitable events in the nation.

Since its inception in 1986, H-E-B said the annual event has raised almost $100 million for over 600 Texas nonprofits.
