Man barricaded in Southeast Bexar County home with 2 others

Neighbor says suspect's van was being towed before gunshots fired

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies are at a standoff with a man believed to have already fired shots.

It's happening at a home in far southeast Bexar County, near the Wilson County line, on Stuart Road off of Highway 181.

Police and a neighbor said the suspect's van was being towed away when he ran after the tow truck, knocked on the window and fired an assault rifle across the hood three or four times.

The Sheriff's Office said a company was trying to repossess the van.

The neighbor said the tow truck dropped the van, the suspect drove it back to his front yard and that's when deputies arrived.

A Sheriff's Office spokeswomen said the suspect is barricaded inside a home with a 40-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.

The spokeswoman said no injuries have been reported so far and no damage was caused to any vehicles.
