New SAC facility will provide support to active, retired military enrolled in school

$7.6 million project expected to be complete by early 2018

SAN ANTONIO – A new facility at San Antonio College that will offer services to veterans is closer to becoming a reality.

The new Victory Center is a part of a $7.6 million project that crews broke ground on last year. The new venue will provide support to active and retired military students while enrolled in school.

Veterans can expect a one-stop shop for whatever they need -- enrollment services and counseling services.

"We serve over 3,000 veterans and that is a major feat for military city SA," SAC president Robert Vela said. "We're so proud to serve our veterans and we're so proud and fortunate and happy and proud to have senator that (are) really responsive to veterans needs.

The Victory Center will be housed at the downtown campus, but is open to any students enrolled at any of the Alamo colleges.

The new facility is expected to be complete by early 2018.
