Suspicious suitcase is old clothes and abandoned items, police say

Suitcase was found by security guard in 900 block of Sutton Dr

SAN ANTONIO – Authorities investigated a suspicious package on the city's Northwest Side early Friday morning that simply turned out to be both old clothes and other abandoned property.

The San Antonio Police Department bomb squad was at the scene in the 900 block of Sutton Drive, found not far from Bandera Road.

Officials said the suitcase was first noticed by a security guard on a property owned by SAWS.

X-rays of the package showed the suitcase to contain old clothes and other abandoned items, but nothing harmful or dangerous.

The 900 block of Sutton Drive was shut down but there was no need for evacuations in the area.
