SAN ANTONIO – More than 1,400 people are without power after a driver crashed into a utility pole near Alamo Street and Interstate 35 Saturday afternoon.

Power lines fell onto Interstate 35 access roads and both directions of the highway, putting traffic at a standstill around 3:30 p.m..

Authorities turned off power to the lines to allow crews to remove them from the highway.

We have a crew at the scene and will update this story as more information becomes available.
