SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio detention officer is facing several charges after he crashed his car into a utility pole while driving drunk and then tried to flee the scene, authorities said.

Raymundo Rodriguez, 26, was arrested just before 7 a.m. Friday after wrecking in the 1300 block of Southeast Military on the city's South Side.

According to a San Antonio Police Department report, Rodriguez made it 300 yards before officers caught him.
