Police arrest man suspected of stealing car at gunpoint

Christopher Martinez, 24, has been taken into custody

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a man they say robbed a car at gunpoint.

24-year-old Christopher Martinez is charged with aggravated robbery.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Martinez walked up to the driver who was parking in the 1000 block of North Sabinas Street yesterday and pointed a handgun at him before demanding the keys to his Mercedes Benz.

The driver and the passenger inside got out the vehicle and Martinez then drove off, the affidavit said.

The car was later found near Rigsby Avenue and Loop 410.

The affidavit said following a search, police finally found Martinez who attempted to flee and arrested him.
