Victim beaten, has backpack stolen from man brandishing gun

Incident occurred July 4 on West Market St near South St. Mary's St

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down the person responsible for an aggravated robbery.

According to police, on July 4 around 11:30 p.m. the victim met the suspect on a bus ride to downtown.

Police said the suspect was supposed to show the victim where he could catch a different bus to his next destination but instead the man produced a gun and demanded the victim's backpack.

The suspect punched the victim several times before fleeing, police said. 

Police said the man was described as wearing a Taco Bell employee uniform.

Anyone with any knowledge of the robbery is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
