Man accused of leading deputy on high-speed chase with baby in car

Ray Garcia Jr.,18, is charged with child endangerment

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of leading a deputy on a high speed chase with a baby in the car.

18-year-old Ray Garcia Jr. is charged with child endangerment.

Sheriff's investigators said the deputy spotted Garcia speeding along South Flores Street back in April.

The deputy tried to pull the man over and that's when, officials say, Garcia turned off his lights and hit the accelerator.

Garcia drove at speeds up to 90 miles per hour with the baby in the car, the affidavit said.

He eventually bailed out of the vehicle at a family member's house and has been on the run ever since.

Garcia was arrested earlier this week.

Officials said the baby was not harmed in the incident.
