Border Patrol agents find 3 bodies this week

Officials struggle to identify two of three bodies

RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents found three bodies this week in unrelated cases, officials said Friday.

On Tuesday, officers from the Sullivan City Police Department, along with the Border Patrol agents, worked together to search for someone who was lost. After looking for hours, investigators found a body. The person was pronounced dead and taken to a funeral home nearby, officials said.

The same day, in an unrelated incident, agents found another body near La Grulla. The deceased did not have any form of identification and was transported to the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Roma, Border Patrol said.

On Thursday, agents came across human skeletal remains near La Grulla. Again, they couldn’t find any ID near or on the body, so the remains were collected and taken to a local funeral home.

Immigrants were urged not to jeopardize their lives by illegally entering the United States or by attempting to circumvent a checkpoint.
