Video shows SAPD officer leaving hospital 2 weeks after shootout

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department posted a video Thursday afternoon showing the recovery of Officer Nathan Becerra, who was shot in the line of duty last month.

Becerra, a four-year veteran of the SAPD, was wounded in the leg and stomach on July 26 in a shootout at the Hilltop Oaks Apartments while responding to a call.

In the Facebook video, Becerra can be seen smiling as he leaves the hospital surrounded by friends and family and his brothers in blue.

Although wounded, Becerra was able to shoot the suspect, who died at the scene.
