Police searching McAllister Park for driver who rammed Park Police car, led them on chase

Park Police deployed stun gun on suspect

SAN ANTONIO – A police helicopter and K-9 unit are searching the area of McAllister Park for a driver who allegedly rammed a Park Police car and led authorities on a chase.

A Park Police officer approached the suspect just before 2 p.m. when the driver made "some kind of action" that caused the officer to deploy his stun gun.

The officer said the driver then rammed his car into the officer's car and fled McAllister Park.

The driver led park police officers on a chase on Whurzbach Parkway before returning to the park and ditching his car.

Authorities redirected some park goers as they searched for the suspect, but by 3:30 p.m., police began allowing people in the area.

The suspect remains at large.
