SAN ANTONIO – There was a bittersweet graduation ceremony Saturday in which graduates at Milan Institute remembered one of their own as they crossed the stage.
Victoria Robles would have graduated Saturday, but she died in a car accident, along with two children, in September.
Her father Jimmy Robles, a pastor, and her mother accepted her diploma on her behalf.
"It's tough. Seeing all the parents here cheering for their children, excited, taking selfies, taking pictures with their kids. All that I have to hold onto is a picture frame of her. Those are memories I have of her. And her diploma. She finally got her diploma," Jimmy Robles said.
He also delivered a prayer to the graduates at the ceremony. He said it was amazing to see Saturday how many people loved his daughter.
