Ex-BCSO detention officer repeatedly punched inmate, officials say

Garrett Flores, 30, charged with official oppression

SAN ANTONIO – A former Bexar County Sheriff's Office detention officer has been charged with five counts of official oppression.

Garrett Flores, 30, has been taken into custody.

According to indictment records obtained by the KSAT 12 Defenders, Flores was working at the Bexar County Jail on April 19 when he repeatedly hit an inmate, causing them to fall and hit the ground.

Flores also has been charged with lying to investigators about the incident.

Sources tell KSAT 12 that Flores was terminated from his job last month. His bond is set at $10,000.
