Overnight shootings send 2 to hospital

Police: Woman shot in thigh, man in foot, in separate cases

SAN ANTONIO – Two separate shootings sent a man and a woman to the hospital overnight, San Antonio police said Friday.

The first shooting occurred just after 11 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Canadian Street, located just east of downtown.

Police said a man and the woman were standing outside the home when the suspect walked up to them and fired one shot before running off.

The woman was hit in the thigh, police said. Officials said they believe the suspect was trying to hit the man next to her.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for her injury.

A second shooting occurred just before 3 a.m. at the Landing Apartments located in the 3400 block of Northeast Parkway.

In that instance, police said a man in his 20s had an altercation at a bar before driving home.

The man was shot in the foot and was uncooperative with police, officials said.

The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
