Man believed to be from SA killed in Austin

Marques Johnson got into confrontation with 2 men on Sixth Street, police say

AUSTIN, Texas – A 33-year-old man believed to be from San Antonio was killed in Austin, police said.

Witnesses told police that Marques Johnson exchanged words with two men in the 200 block of East 6th Street around 2 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Johnson walked away with his wife, and the two men followed the couple and threw an object at Johnson, which struck him, police said.

The victim stopped and turned around, and one of the men punched him, police said.

Johnson fell to the ground and was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

A woman who identified herself as Johnson's aunt told KSAT 12 News that the victim was from San Antonio.

The men ran away and are being sought by police.
