Police search for driver behind three-car crash in stolen ambulance

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for the person or persons who stole an ambulance and caused a three-car crash. 

According to police, EMS was responding to a service call in the 100 block of Mary Louise near Fredericksburg road when the vehicle was stolen. 

The driver was speeding when he crashed into two vehicles at the stop light on Wurzbach Road. The impact knocked both cars onto the opposite side of the street, police said. One car became wedged between two light poles. Police said a woman in her late 50s was trapped inside he vehicle. She was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they initiated their helicopter to search for the suspects when they ran from the scene but they have not been found.
