SAN ANTONIO – A 7-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the mouth and a 3-year-old was grazed by a bullet during a "gang related" shooting at an east side apartment complex Tuesday night.

Authorities were called to the Palms apartment complex in the 3700 block of East Commerce Street just before 7 p.m. for a reported shooting.

Police said a group of people started firing at another group at the complex. The kids were caught in the crossfire.

Both kids suffered non-life threatening injuries. The 7-year-old was taken to an area hospital and the 3-year-old was treated for a graze wound on his head at the scene.

SAPD chief William McManus said they have two people in custody, but have not filed charges in the shooting.
