SAN ANTONIO – The community is already preparing for the 2018 Race for the Cure.
Susan G. Komen of San Antonio held a kickoff Saturday for the 21st annual event.
The goal of the race is to help raise money for breast cancer research.
Saturday’s kickoff celebrated sponsors, participants and survivors.
"Every dollar that we collect, 100 percent goes back into our community here in San Antonio. And so some of our donors are here and they are highlighting the support that we provide and they provide to the community, whether it be treatment assistance, drives to chemo, a prosthetic wig, what have you,” said Brennan Kucera, vice president of the Susan G. Komen of San Antonio board.
Next year’s Race for the Cure will be on May 5 at the Alamodome.
