Driver loses control of car, slams into pole on southeast side

Driver in critical condition

SAN ANTONIO – A man suffered serious head injuries and several broken bones when he lost control of his car and slammed into a pole on the southeast side early Sunday morning.

Police said a man was driving fast when he lost control of his car and spun around several times and slammed into a sign pole at East Southcross and Goliad Road around 2 a.m.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle until firefighters cut him out of the car.

He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.
