BCSO: 2 found dead outside home in North Bexar County

Incident was reported in 22800 block of Fossil Peak

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of two bodies found outside a North Bexar County home located in a gated community.

When deputies responded to calls of shots fired around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 22000 block of Fossil Peak, they found the bodies of a 47-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman.

"They're both pronounced dead at the scene. Both sustained gunshot wounds," BCSO spokesman Marin Mata said.

Many neighbors said they didn't know the shooting happened, but were surprised a shooting would happen in their neighborhood.

"I don't think this incident should raise any alarms, any cause for concern about anybody at large with a firearm in their neighborhood causing this," Mata said.

Sheriff's officials said they are still investigating. In cases like this, they said it can take weeks, even months, to figure out what happened.

"The criminal investigation unit is very thorough, and they have an investigation like this such as the severity of this incident. They're going to be very thorough. They're not going to want to overlook anything at all," Mata said.
