SAN ANTONIO – The Nov. 6, 2017, mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, that left 26 dead and more than 20 others injured is the latest such shooting in the Lone Star State.

In fact, it is the 12th mass shooting in modern Texas history -- and while there is no true consensus on what defines a "mass shooting," each of the incidents listed below are generally accepted as meeting the criteria.
