Steven Willeford, Johnnie Langendorff were men who chased after gunman

SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – Sutherland Springs residents said Thursday they weren’t surprised by the actions of one of the men credited with stopping the gunman.

Steven Willeford was at home when he learned of the church shooting. He grabbed his rifle and dashed across the street, firing at Devin Patrick Kelley.

“(Willeford) is awesome,” said Cathe Skarobarcek, who’s known him for 20 years and said she wouldn’t have expected anything less. “He’s the first one to help.”

Many people are now calling Willeford and Johnnie Langendorff, who chased after Kelley, Texas heroes.
