Caught on camera: Armed men shoot out jewelry display case, make off with jewelry

Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying two men who robbed the Vik's Jewelers in Dripping Springs Saturday afternoon.

Dripping Springs police said two men walked into the jewelry store just after 11:30 a.m. when one of the men pointed a gun at employees and told them to raise their hands. 

The other suspect attempted to break the glass to one of the display cases but was unsuccessful. The second suspect then fired two shots into the case to get to the jewelry.

After stealing the jewelry, the suspects got into a dark green or gray Nissan passenger car.

One suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion who is 5’7” and weighs approximately 175 pounds. The victims said he was wearing light colored jeans, a black sweatshirt-style shirt, a tan baseball hat and sunglasses.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion who is 5’9” and weighs 150 pounds with facial hair. Victims said he was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket with a wide, white stripe on the sleeves, camouflage style bucket hat and a construction-style reflective vest.

Information leading to the arrest and indictment of criminal suspects may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
