SAPD: Driver who ran red light, caused rollover accident wanted on felony warrant

SAN ANTONIO – Police said a driver is facing several charges after he ran a red light and caused a rollover accident that sent four people, himself included, to the hospital early Saturday morning.

The driver was headed south on Highway 281 and Evans Road around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when he ran a red light ahd hit a Jeep. The impact caused the driver of the jeep to lose control and the Jeep rolled over.

The two occupants of the Jeep were taken to Stone Oak Methodist in stable condition. 

The driver of the white car suffered a broken bone and his passenger suffered internal injuries. Both were taken to University Hospital, however, the passenger was taken in critical condition.

Authorities said the driver was wanted on a felony warrant and that they found narcotics on the driver.

Police administered a sobriety test to the driver who ran the red light. If the driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash, he could face additional charges.
