San Antonio fire Batallion Chief Robert Mikel said when firefighters arrived, they found the front portion of the home fully engulfed in flames.
Combustible wood, building materials and other items inside the home helped fuel the fire, which made firefighting efforts difficult, Mikel said.
Two firefighters fell through a section of the home but were checked out at the scene, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No damage estimate was immediately available.
