SAPD: Bomb-making materials found in East Side home after man set room on fire, threatened suicide

SAN ANTONIO – Bomb-making materials were found in a Far East Side home on Sunday after a man started a fire in his bedroom, climbed onto the roof of his house and threatened suicide, police said.

When police arrived at the home in the 4100 block of Sunrise Crest, 19-year-old Marques Anthony Huggins had climbed out of the house and onto the roof before authorities took him into custody.

Before police arrived, Huggins threatened suicide and started a fire in his bedroom, police said.

As firefighters put out the fire in his bedroom, they found bomb-making materials.

The Bomb Squad was called out to the home and cleared the room of explosive materials. Police said no complete bombs were found and that no one was injured.
