LA VERNIA, Texas – Parents of a La Vernia High School football player who was allegedly hazed and assaulted at school have hired a new lawyer and have refiled a civil lawsuit against the school district.

The first lawsuit was withdrawn due to the health of the attorney.

There is no word on how much the lawsuit is seeking, but it does request medical expenses and damages for mental anguish.

Thirteen students have been charged with sexual assault, accused of hazing fellow teammates.
