Woman accused of sending brother to jail, stealing his home

Lou Cindy Ford allegedly forged deed to home

SAN ANTONIO – A North Side woman is accused of pulling off an elaborate plan that left her own brother homeless and broke.

Lou Cindy Ford 54, was arrested Monday on a charge of forgery.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, her brother served her with an eviction notice in April, telling her to move out of his home, located in the 800 block of Edison Drive.

It says soon after that she called authorities alerting them to the fact that he has outstanding warrants. The brother was arrested and sent to jail.

The affidavit said after he was released nearly three months later, he noticed that his bank account had been emptied.

He turned to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office for help.

However, while researching the case on his own the brother discovered that he no longer owned his home.

Sheriff's investigators said Ford had forged her brother's signature on a gift deed, illegally signing over his home to herself.
