SAN ANTONIO – Leonardo “Flaco” Jimenez is joining the lineup for San Antonio’s Tricentennial New Year’s Eve celebration.
Jimenez, a five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, will join REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo in Hemisfair Park on Dec. 31.
Other acts include Joe Y La Familia, The Last Bandoleros, Bidi Bidi Banda and Sam Riggs.
Jimenez will be joined onstage by Little Joe in a performance made possible through a donation by WellMed Medical Management.
“The combination of these tejano and conjunto music powerhouses, Flaco and Little Joe, is an incredible addition to this family-friendly celebration that has been 300 years in the making,” said Carlos Contreras, interim executive director for the Tricentennial Commission.
Jimenez has a lengthy career spanning six decades as a solo artist and member of the Texas Tornados and Los Super Seven.
BillyRay Sheppard, a local saxophonist and smooth jazz artist, is another recent addition to the New Year’s Eve lineup.
