Here's a list of law enforcement officers charged with criminal acts in 2017

SAN ANTONIO – At least 18 law enforcement officers in Bexar County were arrested and criminally charged in 2017.

KSAT 12 has compiled a list of arrests and charges against law enforcement officers we have previously reported on.

As it stands, at least 10 BCSO employees, 7 SAPD officers and 1 city detention officer were arrested and criminally charged in 2017.

There could, however, be more arrests than those listed below as the agencies included are not required to report the arrest of peace officers to the media.

Bexar County Sheriff's Office:

Matthew Fernandez
Charge(s):  Assault causing bodily injury - married
Date of incident: January 11, 2017
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar fired Matthew Fernandez after he was arrested on suspicion of a domestic violence incident at southeast side home. READ STORY

Loren Adams
Charge(s): Assault family violence and unlawful restraint
Date of incident: March 24, 2017
Loren Adams was arrested after he assaulted his wife. Loren was a detention officer at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center. READ STORY

Sabrina Moreno
Charge(s): Driving while intoxicated
Date of incident: March 24, 2017
Moreno was pulled over on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was an 8-month employee of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at the time of the incident. READ STORY

Cynthia Benavidez
Charge(s): Official oppression, assault by public servant and violation of civil rights
Date of incident: April 14, 2015, turned herself in April 2017.
Cynthia Benavidez was indicted on three chares including official oppression, assault by a public servant and violation of civil rights after she allegedly pulled an inmate's leg, causing him to fall. READ STORY

Michael Pena
Charge(s): Family violence
Date of incident: July 8, 2017
Michael Pena was arrested after assaulting a family member after she refused to hand over her phone and a truck key. READ STORY

Michael Mangano
Charge(s): Driving while intoxicated
Date of incident: July 13, 2017
San Antonio Police arrested 25-year-old Michael Magana for driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for a traffic violation. READ STORY

Rita Alvarez
Charge(s): Illegal barter, expenditures, or investments; engaging in organized crime
Date of incident: August 2, 2017
Deputy Rita Alvarez was one of five people charged in a multi-agency narcotics bust. According to a warrant, Alvarez collected a drug debt from a female inmate for convicted felon Cristobal Perez, then kept a portion of the money for herself. READ STORY

Garrett Flores
Charge(s): Official oppression, tampering with records
Date of incident:  Garrett Flores was working at the Bexar County Jail on April 19 when he allegedly repeatedly hit an inmate, causing the inmate to fall and hit the ground. READ STORY

Krystal Borrego
Charge(s): Driving while intoxicated
Date of incident: October 6, 2017
San Antonio Police arrested 32-year-old Krystal Borrego for driving while intoxicated after being pulled over for a traffic violation. READ STORY

Michael Fernandez
Charge(s): Official oppression, violation of the civil rights of a person in custody, assault causing bodily injury and tampering with records
Date of incident: June 15, 2016; arrested Dec. 15, 2017
Michael Fernandez was working the intake and release desk on June 15, 2016 when he hit an inmate in the face then lied about it. READ STORY

Charge(s): Domestic violence
Date of incident: March 14, 2017
David Perry, a sergeant with the San Antonio Police Department, turned himself into the police following a domestic violence charge. READ STORY

Gena Rodriguez
Charge(s): Three charges of driving while intoxicated
Date of incident: April 13, 2017
SAPD officer Gena Rodriguez, 39, was arrested after causing a three-car accident. Inside the vehicle at the time of the accident were her three children, one in a child safety-seat, SAPD said. READ STORY

Harold Thomaston
Charge(s): Driving while intoxicated
Date of incident:  April 14, 2017
Harold Thomaston, a 20-year veteran of the force, was pulled over after running a red light in front of an officer. READ STORY

Armando Alvarado
Charge(s): Driving while intoxicated
Date of incident: June 16, 2017
Armando Alvarado was charged with DWI after he crashed his pickup truck into a Kirby police cruiser, injuring the Kirby officer, investigators say. READ STORY

Robert Ingram
Charge(s): Impeding breath or circulation
Date of incident: August 22, 2017
Robert Ingram, a San Antonio Police Officer with more than 10 years on the force, was arrested and charged with choking a family member. He retired weeks after the charge. READ STORY

Antonio Martinez
Charge(s): Evading arrest on foot, resisting arrest, public intoxication
Date of incident: January 15, 2017
Antonio Martinez was arrested in Arlington following a Dallas Cowboys game. He was spotted taking a woman's purse before authorities chased him on foot and apprehended him. Officers said he resisted arrest. READ STORY

Date of incident: October 26, 2017
Arthur Lopez was arrested downtown after driving the wrong way at the intersection of W. Market Street and Navarro Street, causing a two-vehicle collision. READ STORY
