Man, 30, arrested in connection with two bank robberies

Jack Harris accused of robbing bank in Helotes, San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – A 30-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with two bank robberies in December.

Officer Doug Greene, a San Antonio police spokesman, said that Jack Harris was apprehended Monday afternoon in the 2000 block of Lamar on the city's East Side.

Harris led officers on a brief foot chase before he was apprehended, Greene said.

The suspect is accused of robbing a Falcon Bank branch on Tuesday in the 1200 block of Bandera Road.

Greene said Harris was also wanted for the robbery of a Broadway Bank branch on Friday.

After seeing an image on a television newscast from the Broadway Bank robbery, someone called in a tip to police that eventually led to Harris' arrest, Greene said.

Police are investigating whether Harris is also a suspect in a third bank robbery, Greene said.
